She married Lee Washington Sanders (1897-1989) 14 July 1918 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, United States.

Life in Mexico
Zetta Fern Mortensen was born at the Mormon Colonies in Mexico. At age 12 her mother was assassinated on the family's front door Mexican Revolutionaries prompting many of the colonists to flee to the United States.
The family moved to El Paso, Texas, where she met her husband, Lee Washington Sanders (1897-1989).
