After his death, Yuri's junior cousin Gleb Rostislavich and his descendants established themselves om the throne of the Grand Principality of Ryazan. The Principality of Murom separated from the Principality of Ryazan under the rule of Vladimir Svyatoslavich. Practically close to the capital of Northeastern Russia, the Princes of Murom subsequently acted in alliance with the Grand Princes of Vladimir-Suzdal, while the Princes of Ryazan fought against them, which invariably ended in the ruin of the Principality of Ryazan and the capture of the Princes of Ryazan
In 1164, Yuri sent troops to help Andrei of Bogolyubovo against the Volga Bulgarians, at the end of 1169 against Roman Mstislavich Prince of Novgorod in the winter of 1172 again on the Volga Bulgarians, in 1173 against the descendants of Rostislav Mstislavich in the Grand Principality of Kiev.
Yuri Vladimirovich died on January 19, 1175.
