Yuri Andreyevich of Suzdal, Prince of Suzdal, was born circa 1243 to Andrei II Yaroslavich of Vladimir (c1222-1264) and Ustyniya Daniilovna of Halych (c1232-c1279) and died 8 March 1279 of unspecified causes.
Yuri Andreyevich (c1243-8 March 1279) - Prince of Suzdal (1264-1279). The son of the Prince of Suzdal prince Andrei II Yaroslavich, nephew of Aleksandr Yaroslavich Nevsky .
Almost nothing is known about the activity of Yuri Andreyevich in Suzdal. In 1267 Yuri was imprisoned by another uncle, the Grand Prince Yaroslav Yaroslavich, as governor in Novgorod, where he spent almost his whole life. Yuri Andreyevich was one of the leaders of the Russian army in the Battle of Rakvere (1268) against the Livonian Germans. The next year, Yuri went from Novgorod to Pskov and drove out the Germans who were besieging the city.
After the conflict between the Novgorodians and Yaroslav Yaroslavich, Yuri Andreyevich fled to Torzhok , where he began to retain the food coming from Vladimir land in Novgorod. After his death on March 8, 1279, he was buried in the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Suzdal. He had no children.
