- Valerie Eagle writes in 2012: "Dear Mr Norton. I am sorry to say that I cannot find a baptism for a William Oldrin in Wissett in or around 1772."
- Norman Jackson writes: "[He] was born about May 1746 in Ubbeston, Suffolk, England. He was christened on May 23, 1746 in Ubbeston, Suffolk, England. Norman Jackson writes: "In the will of John Oldrin (1756-?), William is identified as John's late brother and described as 'of Gedgrave, Suffolk, England'. John leaves £19 and 19s to each of William's children when they reach the age of 21 years."
- Norman Jackson writes on May 17, 2012: "I have managed to find out when and where William died. I have an old CD of some Suffolk burials (produced by the Suffolk FHS) and luckily there was this record: William Oldrerin, of Gedgrave buried 13 Feb 1795 at Orford, Suffolk."
