William "Willimus" Cogswell was born circa 1619 in Westbury, Wiltshire, England to John Cogswell (1592-1669) and Elizabeth Thompson (1594-1676) and died 15 December 1700 Chebacco, Essex County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. He married Susanna Hawkes (1633-1696) 1649 in Massachusetts.
Biography
Willaim Cogswell was born in Westbury Leigh, Wiltshire, England in the year 1619,son of John and Elizabeth Thompson Cogswell. He came with his parents to America in 1635 at the age of 16. At age 30 he married Susanna Hawkes. He was a "man of Christian Character". He helped establish the parish of Chebacco May 5,1679 and gave the land to build a meeting house on. He died on December 15, 1700.
