Intelligence of the death of Mr, W. C. Greville at North Shore on Saturday was received here with general regret. The deceased, who had been 41 years in the banking service, was manager of the A. J. S. Back, Bathurst, from 1864 to 1887, when he retired. During that long period he was a most active citizen, doing much to aid the hospital and other institutions, and being organising secretary in connection with many public demonstrations, notably those arranged for the opening of the railway and the visits of the different Governors. Upon retiring from the bank he was the recipient of a testimonial from the officials of that institution, and a similar compliment was paid him by the residents of the district, amongst whom he spent such a large part of his useful life.
