He married Gertrude Ellen Davison (1869-1944) 21 August 1895 in St Paul Church of England, Narooma, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
Mr. William Albert Ernest Field died on Saturday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Reg Cheetiam of Ziem's Av., Corrimal, aged 81. He was the father of Albert, Doris (Mrs. Cheetham), Christ, Patricia and Arthur of Narooma. The funeral leave the Narooma Church of England today for the Narooma Cemetery. Mr. H. Parsons is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
