Walter Lamb was born 8 January 1825 in London, England, United Kingdom to John Lamb (1790-1862) and Emma Trant Robinson (1803-1880) and died 13 November 1906 Plumpton, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Jane Cox (1825-1855) 30 August 1847 in St Peters, Richmond, New South Wales, Australia. He married Margaret Elizabeth Dangar (c1835-1901) 11 February 1858 in St Michaels, Surry Hills, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
A very old colonist, Mr. Walter Lamb died to-day at Rooty Hill, aged 82 years. He was a son of Captain John Lamb R.N. Coming when a young man to New South Wales, he engaged in pastoral pursuits. Mr. Lamb was at one time chairman of directors of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney, president of the Union Club, and a member of the Upper House. As a sportsman he took particular interest in coursing.
