Thomas Latter was born 1837 in Leigh, Kent, England, United Kingdom to Thomas Latter (1801-1881) and Mary Steer (1810-1874) and died 12 February 1927 in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Elizabeth Ann Avery (1839-1929) 12 June 1867 in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. Ancestors are from the United Kingdom.


He arrived in New South Wales on 31 July 1857 on the Aloe with his parents.

Thomas Latter arrived in Australia with his parents and siblings aboard the Aloe in August 1857. During this voyage, he wrote a journal of his trip.
