Thomas Garland was born 15 September 1812 in Bermondsey, Greater London, England, United Kingdom to Charles Garland (1769-) and Naomi Lamb (1778-) and died 4 November 1884 in "Penshurst", Upper Paterson, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Ann Jones (c1816-1909) 22 April 1833 in Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.

He arrived in New South Wales in 1831 on the York as a convict.

  • Garland, died November 4th, at his residence, Penshurst, Upper Paterson, Thomas Garland, age 72 years, leaving a wife, eight sons and two daughters, sixty-five grand children, three great grand children, and a great number of friends. May his soul rest in peace.
