Obituary

MR. THOMAS ELDRIDGE.

A very old and respected pioneer resident of Binda district in the person of Mr. Thomas Eldridge, died at his late residence, Binda, on the 20th ultimo, after a lengthy illness, which he bore with the greatest Christian fortitude, through which he was nursed and cared for with the most filial love and tenderness by his devoted daughter, Miss Nina Eldridge, and other members of the family. The deceased, who was 75 years at the time of his demise never seemed to recovered the shock of his wife's death, which occurred about two years ago; and having contracted a severe cold, which was followed later by an attack of bronchitis, gradually lost strength and succumbed on the date mentioned. Deceased was born in Binda, and practically resided in his native village during the whole of his life. He was an honest, straightforward, industrious man, and of a quiet, unassuming disposition, and held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. He is survived by a family of two sons and three daughters. The sons are Messrs. Theo. and Harry Eldridge, of Binda, and the daughters are Mrs. Albert Bensley (Grenfell), Mrs. James Rogan, (Lake Bathurst), and Miss Nina Eldridge (Stores), Binda, to whom we extend our sincere sympathy in their sad loss. The funeral, which was largely at tended, took place on the following day, when the remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery at Biada, the Rev. P. Donnelly conducting the burial prayers at the graveside.
