After his father died in 1129, the Grand Principality of Ryazan was ruled jointly by Svyatoslav and his brother Rostislav [1]. Svyatoslav resided in Ryazan, and Rostislav in Pronsk.

Then, in 1143, after the death of his older brother, Yuri Svyatoslav took the throne of Murom, while simultaneously transferring the throne of Ryazan to his younger brother Rostislav.

Svyatoslav Yaroslavich died in Murom in 1145 [2][3]
