He married Judith Manwaring (1676-1706) 17 January 1694 in New Shoreham, Newport County, Rhode Island. He married Deborah Greene (1690-1763) 27 October 1725 in New Shoreham, Newport County, Rhode Island.

Biography

As a young man, Samuel Ward (1725-1776) (future governor of Rhode Island married Anna Ray (1728-1770), the daughter of a well-to-do farmer (Simon Ray, Jr.) on Block Island, from whom the couple received land in Westerly, Rhode Island, and they settled there as farmers.
