Oral history from Otto Fredrickson says that Tilly was not Simon's daughter, born before the couple was married and raised as his own. Her father was unknown to Otto. Lucille

Simon arrived in Boston on November 7, 1880 aboard the USS Marathon from Norway. He is listed as age 28.

He filed a Declaration of Intent on Nov. 3rd, 1884 in Brown County, Wisconsin.

He became a naturalized citizen on September 6, 1906 in Shawano County, Wisconsin.
