This is an Arabic phrase meaning, literally, "Tree of Ancestry". A lot of Arab and non-Arab Muslim families maintain one.
This page aspires to provide resources to help research one's own "Shajra", so to speak; that is, provide resources for Muslim and Arab family trees. That should include trees for some significant individuals or other families with good documentation.
