She married Dennis Friend Hanks (1799-1892) 9 June 1821 in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Kentucky.

Family Heritage

When she was 9 years old her widowed mother, Sarah Bush (1788-1869), married the father of future US President Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) and their two families merge together.

Her husband, Dennis Friend Hanks (1799-1892) was a cousin to Abe's mother, Nancy Hanks (1784-1818), he being the son of her aunty Nancy Hanks (1780-1829). He lived for a time with Abe Lincoln's family.
