Samuel Clark, Sr. was born 11 August 1829 in Greene County, Alabama to Daniel Clark (1800-1832) and Fairby Adair (1809-1836) and died 11 March 1868 Payson, Utah County, Utah Territory of unspecified causes. He married Lois Patten Haws (1841-1915) 16 September 1858 in Pond Town, Utah County, Utah.

Biography

Both of Samuel's parents died before he was age 7. It is presumed that he was raised either by his grandparents or his older sister or other extended family living in Itawamba County, Mississippi. In about 1844, all of this family accepted the preaching of Mormon missionaries and shortly afterwards joined the giant exodus to Utah. Samuel finally married a young girl, Lois Patten Haws (1841-1915) in 1858 Utah.
