Marriages and migrations

Ruth's first husband died in 1925 in Seattle, after which she married his unmarried older brother and they moved to Texas (the same year and she had one more child. At the 1930 census they were in El Paso, Texas.

By the 1940 census the family had moved to California (though the two older sons had flown the nest) and had taken under their wings the orphaned 20-year-old twin daughters of Hugh and Ralph's sister Ethelwyn Brydon (1882-1935), whose husband had died in 1932.

All the children were born in Washington State, some or maybe all in Seattle. Anne was born in July 1923 and died of Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis in November 1924 at Seattle and was buried there, and her father died there the next year, which would be two good reasons why her mother, Ruth, was buried there despite at least two subsequent interstate moves (Texas by 1930 and California by 1940).
