Biography
Robert F. Abell was born 16 October 1919 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, United States to Clifford Abell (1875-1965) and Jennie Ferne Loshbough (1886-1957) and died 23 January 2010 La Jolla, San Diego County, California, United States of unspecified causes. He married Frances Mae Whitey 1943 .
He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Jennie Abell. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances Mae Whitey. He served in the US Air Force during World War II as a project engineer on aircraft engines at Wright Field.

Robert F. Abell, 90, passed away quietly to his Heavenly home after a long battle against Alzheimer's disease on January 23, 2010, with his wife of 67 years by his side. A celebration service in his honor was held on Saturday, January 30, at La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
Bob was born October 16, 1919, in Chicago, IL, to Clifford and Jennie Abell. He graduated from Harper High School and Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force working as a project engineer on aircraft engines at Wright Field during WW II. At the end of the war, he worked for Universal Cooler in compressor design and engineering for 2 years. He spent 19 years in Kansas City with Western Auto Supply Co. as Buyer, Merchandise Manager and Western Regional V.P. Bob joined Pay N Pak as V.P. in Longview, WA, and in 1968 FedMart appointed him V.P. of a new Merchandising Division in San Diego. In 1970, Bob bought City Printing Service where he worked until retirement in 1992.
During college, Bob met and married the love of his life, Frances Mae Whitey. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage and were graced with 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was witty and intelligent and loved life, his family and home.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; son, Alan (Faith) Abell; daughter, Marilyn (Jim) Harbrecht; grandchildren, Kristen (Evan) Johnson, Marc Abell, Jessie (Jerry) Pullins, and Becky (Josh) Ediger; and great-grandchildren, Kyle, Katey and Preston Johnson, Levi Pullins, and Wesley Ediger.[1]
