Power County, Idaho is part of the 'Pocatello, IdahoWp globe tiny.gif Metropolitan Statistical AreaWp globe tiny.gif which encompasses all of BannockWp globe tiny.gif and Power counties of Idaho. The county seatWp globe tiny.gif is American FallsWp globe tiny.gif6Wp globe tiny.gif.

Power County was created by the Idaho Legislature on January 30Wp globe tiny.gif, 1913Wp globe tiny.gif by a partition of Cassia CountyWp globe tiny.gif. It is named for the American Falls Power Plant.
