Owen Shepleigh Smith was born 29 June 1848 in Franklin, New London County, Connecticut, United States to John Owen Smith (1819-1896) and Abby Shepleigh King (1822-1894) and died 17 December 1934 Norwich, New London County, Connecticut, United States of unspecified causes. He married Harriet Eunice Huntington (1851-1943) 2 October 1872 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut, United States.
The Huntington family in America [1915] says:
- ... Owen Shepleigh. son of John Owen and Abbie Shepleigh (King) Smith. He was born in Franklin, Ct. Mr. Smith is a real estate dealer, and moved from Franklin to Norwich, Ct., in April, 1881. They live in Norwich Town, Ct. They are Congregationalists, and Mr. Smith was Supt. of the Sunday School in the Second Congregational Church from 1885 to 1888.
