He arrived in New South Wales in 1844 on the William Metcalfe with his parents.

The death of Mr. Nathaniel Churchill (66) of Gullen, which occurred on Saturday last, is one of general regret, he being a highly-esteemed resident. Deceased had been a resident of Gullen for over 30 years. Death was due to pneumonia. He leaves a family of three sons and six daughters.
