In the NUTS (Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics) codes of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK), there are 40 level 2 statistical regions.

Some of the regions are single counties. However, others comprise part or all of more than one county and should not, therefore, be used in our person-page "County" ("level 2") fields but may be shown in "Places-other".

In NUTS version 2013, which was introduced on 1 January 2015,[1] regions UKI3 and UKI4 replaced a single region UKI1, and regions UKI5, UKI6 and UKI7 replaced a single region UKI2. This increased the number of NUTS2 regions from 37 to 40.
