Moses Rucker was born 1840 in Franklin County, Georgia to Azmon Rucker (1813-1863) and Rebecca Brooks (1819-) and died 1862 Civil War Hospital of Typhoid Fever.

Moses Rucker enlisted in Company A of the 24th Georgia Infantry Regiment with several of his cousins and brother-in-law, Matthew H Sanders (1836-). He married Sarah Georgiana Lay in about 1860, but they did not have any issue. From the Regimental roster it appears that he died of Typhoid Fever at a military hospital located to where his unit was deployed shortly before the start of the Antietam Campaign. His widow remarred afterwards.
