Mollymook (35°20′S 150°28′E / -35.333, 150.467Coordinates: 35°20′S 150°28′E / -35.333, 150.467) is located on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia and is part of the MiltonUlladulla area, which is approximately 3 hours drive south of Sydney. At the 2006 census, Mollymook had a population of 1,054 people.[1] It forms part of a seven kilometre stretch of unbroken urban development from the south of Ulladulla to Narrawallee inlet. Along the coast, geographically Mollymook consists of Mollymook Beach, at the southern end of which is the Mollymook golf club and surf lifesaving club, through to Bannister Head and then the southern section of Narrawallee beach. In peak holiday times South Mollymook Beach, North Mollymook Beach and Narrawallee are all patrolled by surf life savers.

There is little industry apart from accommodation and retail in Mollymook, but it is close to Ulladulla which houses a large commercial fishing fleet and supports a relatively larger population and economy.

The name "Mollymook" is a corruption of mollymawk, the name given by sailors to small species of albatross.

Of Mollymook's two golf courses, the Hilltop course is renowned as a challenging and picturesque championship layout. The other course is a smaller 9 hole layout adjacent to the ocean.

In October 2009, Rick Stein an English chef, restaurateur and international television presenter opened his first Australian restaurant 'Rick Stein at Bannisters' in Mollymook.[2] Located at 'Bannisters' a Boutique Hotel on the cliff tops of Bannisters Point, the opening of 'Rick Stein at Bannisters' bought a new level media attention and public awareness to the town of Mollymook.[3]
