Mary Ann Cooper was born 1796 to John Cooper (c1762-1832) and Elizabeth Hill Rogerson (1766-1840) and died 17 March 1851 of unspecified causes. She married William Henry Smith (1792-1865) 25 June 1817 in St George's Church, St George Hanover Square, Greater London, England, United Kingdom.

Mary Ann Cooper was born in 1796 and baptised at st George Hanover Square, London, the only daughter of John Cooper and Elizabeth Hill Rogerson.

Mary Ann and William Henry Smith were married by Banns when Mary Ann was 21 in 1817.

She had two brothers John Edward Cooper (1794-1879), an Architect who lived in Kent and Frederick Brown Cooper (1805-1870). a carpenter, that had been apprenticed to his father at a young age and who was an exceptional Theatre Machinist. Frederick immigrated to Australia and died in Sydney in 1870

Mary Ann's mother Elizabeth came to live with her at 42 Duke Street, Hanover Square after her husband John had passed away, from 1832-1840.
