Report of death
The news of the death of Mrs. Walter Lamb, in England, was cabled to Sydney last week, and received with regret by a large circle of friends and relations. It is a melancholy and remarkable fact that during the present year there have been recorded the decease of Miss Eva Lamb, daughter of Mr. Edward Lamb; of Mr. J. de V. Lamb, and of his son Alastair, while on active service in South Africa; of Mrs. Edward Lamb; and now of Mrs. Walter Lamb, this making the fifth death within a few months in the same family. So many of the leading people in Sydney are connected with the Lambs by relationship or marriage, that a number of families have been thrown into mourning by the deaths which have unfortunately followed thus closely upon one another.
