Ketches Fly Flags At Half Mast

All ketches of Port Adelaide flew their flags at half mast on Saturday as a token of respect for the late Captain Magnus Irvine, who died at the age of 68 at his home, Heath street, Birkenhead, on Thursday. Captain Irvine was engaged in the coastal trade for more than forty years, and was well known and highly respected in Port Adelaide and the outports of Spencer and St. Vincent Gulfs. He leaves a wife, two sons, two daughters, and nine grandchildren. His son, Captain Joseph Irvine, has been master of the 44-ton ketch One and All for 16 years.
