Llewellyn Baglin was born circa 1824 in Owlpen, Gloucestershire, England, United Kingdom to Francis Baglin (1798-1876) and Sarah Robins (1799-1848) and died 24 May 1885 Paddington, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Mary Ann Bick (1826-1904) 21 May 1850 Wheatenhurst in Hardwicke, Gloucestershire, England, United Kingdom.

Llewellyn Baglin, a carpenter and builder, his wife Mary Ann Bick, and their daughters Emma and Charlotte migrated from England to Australia on the ship "Lloyds" arriving in Sydney 4th September 1856. (A little more than a year earlier, his brother, John Hinton Baglin, and family had left London for Australia on the ship "Euphrates" as assisted immigrants.)

In Bronte, an east coast suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Llewellyn became a Councillor for the Waverley Council between 1869-1875 and 1877-1884. In 1885, a year after his retirement from Council, the Improvement Committee of Council successfully recommended that a street in Bronte be named Baglin Street in his honour. Although the street was named from 1885, it often does not appear in street directories from this date because it had no houses and was just an unmade road until 1922. In 1922 when the first residence was built and occupied, Baglin Street as a residential address was born.

Therefore 'Baglin Street', Bronte, NSW, Australia was named after Councillor Lewellin (sometimes spelt Llewellyn) Baglin for his service as a member of Waverley Council 1869-1875 and 1877-1884.

The parents of Mary Ann Bick (wife of Llewellyn), William Bick (1794-1881) and Sarah Purkes (c1798-1870), were living at Hardwick within the estate of the Lloyd Baker family. William Bick was the gamekeeper and farm bailiff for the estate. William and Sarah lived at Hardwick all their married lives, and after Sarah's death in 1870 William lived with the gatekeeper’s family at the gatekeepers lodge until his death in 1881.
