Jonathan Ashby I was born 28 September 1694 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts to Benjamin Ashby (1664-1713) and Johannah Hill (1662-1699) and died 22 July 1729 Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. He married Jeminah Felt (1696-1769) 7 November 1715 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts.

Jonathan Ashby, born in Salem Sept. 28, 1694. He was a shipwright, and lived in Salem. He married Jemima Felt of Salem Nov. 17, 1715; and died Jan. 22, 1729-30. She survived him, and died, his widow, Nov. 23, 1789, aged ninety-three. Children, born in Salem :— 1. Jonathan, bapt. July 21, 1717. 2. Jemima, bapt. Feb. i, 1718-9; m. Thomas Morong of Salem, mariner, April 19, 1739; and was his widow, living in Salem, 1790. 3. Benjamin, bapt. April 16, 1721. 4. John, bapt. April 7, 1723; laborer; of Salem, 1750. 5. Hannah, bapt.
