Biography

John Rhodes V was born 24 February 1768 in Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island, United States to John Holden Rhodes (1744-1824) and Rosanna Budlong (1742-1824) and died 1847 Edmonson County, Kentucky, United States of unspecified causes. He married Dorithea Crandall (1771-1850) 27 April 1788 in Voluntown, New London County, Connecticut.

John Rhodes was the son of John Holden & Rosanna Budlong Rhodes, Jr. He married Dorothea Crandall, daughter of Amos & Elizabeth Brown Crandall, in Voluntown, Connecticut on Apr 27, 1788.

By 1810, John and his family moved to Barren County, Kentucky. John's brother, Daniel married Elizabeth Crandall. Daniel and Elizabeth also moved their families to Kentucky.

Research Notes

A Deed of Conveyance was recorded in Edmonson Co, KY on Dec 13, 1847, Book D, Pg 448-49: John Rhodes, deceased, to Amos Rhodes & David Lamonyon (spouse of daughter, Elizabeth) as heirs for parcel of land (250 acres) with bounds along the Green River in same county.

At present, I don't know where John & Dorothea are buried. I believe it is in Edmonson Co, KY due to the conveyance of 250 acres on Dec 13, 1847 to son, Amos Rhodes. John & Dorothea are my 4th great grandparents and I descend through their youngest child, Amos Rhodes.
