John Merrick was born 1614 in St. David, Pembrokeshire, Wales to John Meyrick (1579-1650) and Dorothy Bishop (1570-1650) and died 15 February 1679 Charlestown, Suffolk County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. He married Elizabeth Hopestill Wyborne (1619-1676) 1638 in St Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Biography

John Merrick was admited a citizen of Charlestown, Massachusetts on 14 Feb 1641. He was a cooper and block-maker by occupation and had his own shop on the water front in Charlestown. His will was proved in 1679 and his estate was administered by his brother, James of Newbury.
