Biography

Revolutionary War Service

His father was captain of a company of minuteman (Marlborough 1775 Minuteman Roster) that marched on the alarm of 19 April 1775. They marched to Cambridge MA to intercept the British and were there for about 10-30 days.

John's service probably occurred much later in the war because of his young age. He was placed on the pension roll of Orange Co., Vt., 1818, for service of private in the Massachusetts Continental Line. He was born in Marlboro, Mass.; died in Chelsea, Vt.
