Johann Ludwig von Westphalen was born 11 July 1770 in Bornum am Elm to Christian Heinrich Philipp von Westphalen (1723-1792) and Jeanie Wishart (1742-1811) and died 3 March 1842 Trier of unspecified causes. He married Elisabeth von Veltheim (1778-1807) 4 July 1798 in Meisdorf. He married Caroline Heubel (1779-1856) 3 April 1812 in Salzwedel.
