Jane Hewitt was born 17 May 1825 in Boston, Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom to John Hewitt (1797-1834) and Hannah Ramsay (c1793-1870) and died 8 May 1913 Brooklyn, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. She married William Izzard (1815-1851) 28 December 1840 in Lower Hawkesbury, New South Wales, Australia. She married Francis Byrnes (1829-1865) 8 December 1852 in Lower Hawkesbury, New South Wales, Australia.
She arrived in New South Wales aboard the Numa with her convict mother and 4 of her siblings on 13 June 1834. Her convict father had arrived on the John on 8 June 1832.
