She married Charles Williams (1840-1922) 9 September 1861 in Clapham, Surrey, England, United Kingdom. Ancestors are from the United Kingdom.


Early LifeEdit

Jane Aris was born 22 March 1844 and christened just over a month later in Clapham. Her parents were William Aris (1801-1867), a smith specialising in coach building, and Patience Usher (1805-1873). She was born a month after her parents twentieth wedding anniversary, and they already had eight children. Two sisters were born after Jane.

William Aris died in 1867; after that Patience worked as a laundress before her death in 1873. Jane's grandmother Ann Usher had died in 1871 aged 95.


MarriageEdit

Jane married aged 17 to Charles Williams (1840-1922), a labourer, on 9 September 1861, at Holy Trinity in Clapham. The couple moved to Battersea, where Charles lived, and began a family.

Later LifeEdit

The family later lived in a cottage next to the railway in Hampton. Jane passed away in 1895 aged 51, leaving behind her husband and children, the youngest of whom was twelve. Charles remained living with their son Fred in Walton-on-Thames until his death in 1922.
