21 June 17831–27 May 1870.2 Government excise worker, farmer, joiner, carpenter.3 Born in Ackenthwaite, Westmoreland, England.4 Son of Edward Taylor and Elizabeth Saul.5 Christened Anglican.6 Moved to Lancaster, Lancashire, England, before 1805.7 Married Agnes Taylor, 23 Dec. 1805, in Kirkoswald, Cumberland, England.8 Moved to Milnthorpe, Westmoreland, by 1808; to Liverpool, Lancashire, by 1814; to Hale, Westmoreland, 1819; and to Toronto, 1832.9 Baptized into LDS church by son John Taylor.10 Moved to Oquawka, Henderson Co., Illinois, by Aug. 1842.11 Twice housed JS to hide him from his enemies, 1842.12 Ordained a high priest, by 1845.13 Migrated to Salt Lake City, 1847.14 Died in Salt Lake City.15
