James Forlong was born 27 May 1722 in Stirling Village, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom to James Forlong (c1690-) and Isobell Campbell (c1700-) and died 19 July 1797 Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom (Lanarkshire) of unspecified causes. He married Janet Boyle (c1717-) 9 September 1743 in Shuttle Street, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Possibly the "spirit dealer, Gallowgate, shop No 21" in the First Glasgow Directory (1787), where there was also a James, manufacturer, Havannah. Robin has or had more listings for them from later directories and listings (even more useful - with dates of commencement and relationships) from the records of the Burgesses and Guild Brethren of Glasgow.

IGI says Jas. Forlong married Janet BOYLE on 11 Sep 1743. That's a long time after 1680 (the date the hand-drawn family tree suggests)! +
