James Berkeley, 3rd Earl of Berkeley, was born after 1679 to Charles Berkeley, 2nd Earl of Berkeley (1649-1710) and Elizabeth Noel (c1655-1719) and died 17 August 1736 Castle of Aubigny, Aubigny, France of unspecified causes. He married Louisa Lennox (1694-1717) 13 February 1711 .
