Migration to America
Emigrated to New England with his brother and uncle Richard Bere on 2 September 1635, from Granvesend, England,on the ship William and John and settled first at Watertown, Massachusetts, then removed to Fairfield, Connecticut, about 1638. There is recorded thirteen parcels of land at Fairfield to the name of “James Beere” from 1659 to 1684.
Married about 1648 to Martha Barlow (1632-1698), herself an immigrant from England, born about 1625, and died on 27 March 1698, at Fairfield. By occupation he was a Mariner like his father and brother Anthony. He died in November 1694
