He married (2) Marian Martin 21 July 1856 in St James Anglican Church, Sydney, Australia, the eldest daughter of Capt. George Martin (1778-1842) and Mary Brett (1795-1873). She was born c1820 and died at the age of 64 on 12 November 1884 in Strawberry Hills, Sydney, NSW, Australia of Brights disease. Marian had first married George James Andrews (1820-1850) in 1844 in Sydney. She had moved to Adelaide, South Australia with her husband and son George M Andrews (1845-) before 1847 before coming back to NSW after her 1st husband's death on 12 June 1850. Whilst in Adelaide she had 3 children including Henry Martin Andrews (1850-1926) who was born on 18 November 1850 after his father's death. There was also Georgina Charlotte Andrews (1847-) and James Frederick Martin Andrews (1849-1927). Henry Oliver Steed became step-father to these 3 children.
