Henry Charles Darling was born 28 February 1780 in Uppingham, Rutland, England, United Kingdom to Christopher Darling (c1751-1795) and Ann (bef1772-1820) and died 11 February 1845 of unspecified causes. He married Isabella Hay Cameron (1791-1871) 19 May 1807 .

Major-General Sir Henry Charles Darling KCB (Uppingham, 28 February 1780 – 11 February 1845). Major General in the British Army. Lt Governor to Tobago (1833–45).

Married before 1808 Isabella Cameron, eldest dau of Charles Cameron, sometime Governor of the Bahamas and Lady Margaret Hay.

He was brother of General Sir Ralph Darling. He was father of Sir Charles Henry Darling, KCB.
