I'm trying to find out who my grandfather's parents are. My grandfather is George William Freund b. 10 Sept 1891 somewhere in Illinois possibly Chicago d. Oct 1978 Omak, Okanagon, WA, USA. All I know about his family three of the five children were adopted as children of which my grandfather was one. My grandfather was adopted somewhere between 1891 and 1900 when he first appears with his adoptive family in the US Census in McIntosh County North Dakota at the age of eight or nine. His adoptive parents are John Rott and Barbara (Niess) Rott. John and Barbara had two biological children Eduart and Martha. Nothing is known about George's biological parents except that his father's name may have been either George or Philipp and his mother's name was either Rose or Rosa. and that his mother later had a Hat Shop somewhere in California. |
