George Gordon was born 2 February 1835 in Kelso, New South Wales, Australia to George Gordon (c1800-bef1863) and Norah Sullivan (c1812-aft1842) and died 13 November 1888 in Balabula, Young, New South Wales, Australia of hydatids of the liver. He married Ellen Eldridge (1835-1899) 6 June 1854 in Binda, New South Wales, Australia.

  • GORDON—On the 13th November, at his residence, Balabula, from abscess on the liver, after a long and painful illness, GEORGE, the late beloved father of GEORGE and WILL GORDON of Wedalion near Young. The deceased was a brother to the late Mrs. William Eldridge of Binda, and uncle of Mr. George Eldridge, Binda, and was a resident there for many years. Respected and loved by all who knew him. He leaves a wife, a large family of sons and daughters, grandchildren, and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. He was first cousin of James Hearn Esq., Bigga. Resting in the arms of Jesus.
