George Coombs was born 1790 in Bincombe, Dorset, England, United Kingdom to Matthew Coombs (1754-) and Margaret Munday (c1755-1793) and died 18 November 1831 St Pancras, London, England, United Kingdom of unspecified causes.

George Coombs was born in 1790 in Bincombe, Dorset to Matthew and Margaret Coombs. His mother died in 1793 and George later moved to London where him and his wife Sarah Coombs had their first son Matthew George Coombs in 1812 in Holborn. George was a coachman of 114 Grays Inn Lane, Holborn. They had a daughter Margaret Coombs in 1817 in St Marylebone. They then moved to Soho and had a son Frederick in 1819 who died in 1821. In 1828 they were still in Soho when they had their last child William Thomas Coombs. George died in 1831 at St Pancras Workhouse of an unknown illness aged 41 and is buried at Old Church St Pancras, London. Sarah stayed in St Marylebone and remarried in 1834. She died herself in 1851. The only likely marriage so far of George Coombs to Sarah is in 1810 in Axminster, Devon, a Sarah Davy wed George Coombs but she was a widow, if it is the right Sarah she would have been a young widow.
