George Cleveland was an 18th century resident of Massachusetts. Descended from Moses Cleveland (c1624-1702) and Walter Palmer (c1585-1661), George Cleveland and his descendants are cousins of Presidents Grover Cleveland (1837) and Ulysses S. Grant (1822). He died at Fort William Henry while serving in the French and Indian War.
Biography
George Cleveland was born circa 1706 in North Kingstown, Washington County, Rhode Island, United States to Edward Cleveland (1663-1746) and Deliverance Palmer (c1665-1717) and died 2 October 1756 Fort William Henry, Lake George, Warren County, New York, United States of unspecified causes. He married Sarah Hall (c1706-1793) 1730 in Walpole, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States.
