Is there some kind of automatic category assigner? For instance on my page Descendants of John Gore (bef1635-bef1674) I keep deleting a couple of these :
"[[Category:"
They keep coming back though. I am not sure if this is happening on other pages since I have mostly been working on this one for the past few days. Thought maybe this is a bug. Anyone else experiencing this? Will 02:33, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- This is caused by the new editor. You will notice that in the new editor, all the categories are not in the wikitext, but in a Category box at the bottom of the editing screen. Well- this feature is still in beta- it messes up often, so when you save, you may see this junk text added. It is annoying but maybe the spell checker and other nice stuff in the new editor makes it worth deleting this junk until the time they get around to fixing the bug. If not, go back to the old editor by going to the preferences Special:Preferences, click the Editing tab, then unclick the last checkbox- "Use new editor".
