Articles Ancestors of Barack Obama and Barack Obama (1961) have been protected indefinitely since 2010 and 2011, respectively. In fact, they are "semi-protected" so that only "autoconfirmed" users can edit them. Can an administrator check the articles and unprotect them if he believes protection is no longer necessary? I think indefinite protection may be considered harmful to editors who are not logged in to the site, especially there is little or no vandalism to any article. 24.6.161.63 23:26, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

On the contrary, I see regular vandalism of the mindless type. If annonymous editors have anything substantial to add to these pages, they could detail them on the talk pages etc. Thurstan (talk) 23:36, February 16, 2015 (UTC)
