I was creating some born/died in place categories and discovered that there are ads covering the lists of names such as in Category:Born in Atchison County, Missouri. I tried changing skins and even logged out but the ads are still there. Not sure if there is way to move them or not. Just wanted to point it out to those more technically minded than me. I get them too - the three Wikia spotlights. I think one factor is our templates, particularly the county ones that go at the top. I don't know any more than you about a solution. — Robin Patterson (Talk) 14:56, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Looked at this. It is a Wikia banner interaction with the navbox templates. Probably related to CSS. I am sending it to wikia central. Wikia heldesk post here -~ Phlox 16:58, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
It was probably an unclosed div in Tnavbar-mini. This used to have nasty html code that relied on html tidy to fix up (something we don't have on wikia by design). I must have dropped a div somewhere in the conversion I did (not fun by the way), but the new tnavbar stuff was clean. If anyone has problems or notices weird new stuff on navboxes, let me know. As far as I know none of the navboxes are wonking out the wikia adverts anymore.-~ Phlox 02:17, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Here's another apparent template-related cause (copied from Phlox talk):

no line break prior to some templates that have fancy formatting in them. eg: {{Documentation}}
