The Kent & Sussex Courier of 7 April 1893 at page 5[2] reported on the death of Captain George Hope (with lots of genealogical detail), mentioning that in June 1816 "he reembarked on board the Granicus, Captain William Furlong Wise, and was present as midshipman at the Battle of Algiers on August 27th of that year..."
